Privacy Policy

This site is operated by LectureBound Inc., an Illinois corporation (“LectureBound”), Tali Levy’s college counseling practice. This policy is about the website itself. The counseling engagement is governed by a separate written services agreement, and anything a family shares inside that engagement is protected by it, and by the promise this site makes, where it describes the work, that what a student says stays private, rather than described here.

The short version

This site does not track you across the internet and does not ask you for anything. It sets no cookies of its own, runs no advertising scripts, embeds nothing from social networks, and has no account to create. It counts its visitors anonymously, and while it is under construction it remembers, in your browser and normally only until you close the tab, that you dismissed the construction notice. That is the whole of what LectureBound’s own code does; Cloudflare’s role in serving the site is described below. If you want to reach Tali, you send her an email, and it behaves exactly like any other email you send.

What the website collects

The pages are static files. There are no advertising pixels, no session recording, no chat widget, no social media embeds, and no third-party fonts. The typeface is served from this site rather than from Google Fonts, so loading a page does not tell a font provider that you were here. There is nowhere on this site to type anything and no form that submits anywhere, so nothing you type goes anywhere. (While the site is under construction, the construction notice is technically a form element, because that is how a browser’s own dialog box closes. It has no fields and it sends nothing.)The site never asks you for personal information, and it collects no biometric identifiers or biometric information of any kind.

Two scripts run on a page while the site is under construction: the visitor counter described in the next section, and one that opens the construction notice and is removed when the site launches. Every page works normally with scripts switched off entirely.

Analytics: how visitors are counted

This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. It is cookieless: no cookie, no browser fingerprint, no persistent identifier, and no following you to other websites. It reports that a page was viewed, roughly what part of the world the request came from, what referred it, the general type of device, which browser and operating system it ran, and how quickly the page loaded. It does not report who you are, and it contains nothing that could be used to contact you.

There is no way for LectureBound to identify an individual visitor from it, or to connect a visit to an email you later send. The measurement exists so Tali can see whether the site is reaching families at all, and nothing more is done with it: it is not sold, not shared, not used for advertising, and not combined with any other source of information about you.

Cloudflare processes this on LectureBound’s behalf as its service provider, under Cloudflare’s own privacy terms. What LectureBound sees is an aggregate dashboard; the underlying records stay with Cloudflare under those terms, and LectureBound keeps no copy of them. Blocking scripts in your browser prevents the measurement entirely, and every page of this site works normally when you do.

What the hosting provider sees

The site is served by Cloudflare. As with every website, your browser has to ask for a page before it can be sent one. Cloudflare receives that request, which includes your IP address, the page you asked for, the date and time, and your browser’s user-agent string. It uses this to deliver pages and to protect the site from automated abuse, acting as LectureBound’s service provider. Cloudflare keeps these request records under its own retention practices and privacy terms; LectureBound receives no copy of them, does not use them to build a profile of you, and does not combine them with anything else.

Cloudflare’s security layer may also add a small script of its own to a page, to tell real visitors apart from automated traffic. That is a security measure operated by Cloudflare, not analytics: it is not LectureBound’s, it is not used to advertise to you, and LectureBound receives nothing from it about you as an individual.

Cookies

Browsing this site sets no cookies, checked against the real domain rather than assumed, most recently on July 24, 2026. LectureBound sets none, and the visitor counter works without one. If Cloudflare’s security layer ever needs to challenge suspicious automated traffic, it can set a strictly necessary cookie of its own to do that; that is a security function operated by Cloudflare, not advertising, and not something LectureBound reads. There is no cookie banner here because there is nothing to ask you about.

LectureBound’s own code stores one thing on your device while the site is under construction, and it is not a cookie. When you close the “Under construction” notice, the site records that you closed it, using session storage, so it does not reappear on every page you open. It holds a single yes, nothing about you, and no identifier of any kind. Unlike a cookie it is never sent to this site or anywhere else; it is only read back by this site, in the tab you are using and any tab you open from it. Your browser discards it when you close that tab, although a browser feature that reopens closed tabs can bring it back. It stops being written at all when the site launches and the notice comes down.

“Do Not Track” and Global Privacy Control

Some browsers can send a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. California law asks websites to say how they respond, so here is the answer plainly: this site does not track you over time or across other websites, and it does not sell or share personal information, so those signals have nothing to switch off. Pages behave identically with the signals on or off, because the thing they exist to stop does not happen here in the first place. Nor does LectureBound permit any third party to collect personal information about your activity over time and across other websites through this site. Cloudflare, the only other party involved in serving it, acts solely as LectureBound’s service provider.

If you email

The contact page gives you Tali’s email address as a plain link. Nothing is sent to this website when you use it. Your message goes to her mailbox, she reads it, and she replies. Her mailbox is provided by Google Workspace, which stores and delivers the mail as her email service; LectureBound gives your correspondence to no one else. You will not be added to a mailing list for writing to her. Correspondence stays in her mailbox like any other email: it is kept while it is useful for answering you and as an ordinary business record, and if you ask for it to be deleted, it will be, unless the law requires keeping it or it is genuinely needed to finish something you asked for or to resolve a dispute.

Please do not send sensitive information

Ordinary email is not a secure channel. Please do not send transcripts, test scores, financial information, medical or disability information, identification numbers, or application usernames and passwords by email. If any of that is genuinely needed once you are working together, Tali will tell you a safer way to share it.

Your rights and choices

You can email tali@lecturebound.com to ask what information LectureBound holds about you in connection with this website and your correspondence, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, subject to the same narrow exceptions described above. This does not depend on where you live. LectureBound honors these requests from any state. Expect a substantive reply within 45 days, and if a request ever needs longer, an explanation and a completion date within that same window. A request about your email correspondence is verified the simplest way there is: by replying to the address the correspondence came from. You will never be treated differently for making a request.

California

Most of the families LectureBound works with are in California, so this policy is written to California’s standards for every reader. LectureBound does not sell personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as California law defines those terms, and it discloses personal information to no one for their own direct marketing purposes. The rights described above (access, correction, deletion, and a reply within 45 days) are available to every California resident, and to everyone else. LectureBound is a small practice that may fall below the thresholds at which the California Consumer Privacy Act formally applies; the commitments in this policy do not depend on that.

Students, and anyone under 13

This site is written for parents and guardians and for high school students. It is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them. If the student is under 13, a parent or guardian should make the first contact. If LectureBound learns that it has received personal information online from a child under 13 without a parent or guardian involved, it will delete it promptly.

Student information on this site

No student’s name, photograph, quotation, essay, story, or admissions result appears on this site without written permission for that specific use, given in advance, and given by a parent or guardian where the student is a minor. Permission can be withdrawn, and the material comes down.

Where this site reports student outcomes, it reports only totals across a group of students, described where they appear. It names no student, and it deliberately does not connect any particular student to any particular school, scholarship, or result. Figures are reviewed before publication so that no total describes a single student.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected or who receives it, the date above will change and the change will be described here rather than quietly edited in.

August 20, 2026. The site gained a construction notice that appears once as a dialog box. Closing it stores one value in your browser’s session storage, described under Cookies above. Nothing else about what is collected changed, and nothing new is sent anywhere.
